On July 2, 2024, HE Jean-Hugues de Pradel de Lamaze was received by the Minister of Health, HE Professor Adrien Mougougou, providing an opportunity to discuss the Sovereign Order of Malta’s work in Gabon and its development prospects.

After a historical overview of the Sovereign Order of Malta’s first humanitarian projects in Gabon for lepers, our Ambassador presented to the Minister of Health the various initiatives we carry out today across the country. These primarily involve the provision of medicines and medical equipment to five health facilities located between Libreville, Port-Gentil, Lambaréné, and Mekambo. The Minister thanked our Ambassador for this valuable assistance and assured him of his support in enabling the development of the Sovereign Order of Malta’s work in areas where the health needs of the population are greatest.
