On 24 June 2023, on the occasion of Saint John the Baptist, marking the annual feast of the Sovereign Order of Malta, a mass of thanksgiving to the Patron saint of the Order was organized in Notre Dame de Lourdes Cathedral in Libreville.

Celebrated by Canon Bergerot, parish priest, in the presence of Monseigneur Bielaszka, Chargé d’affaires at the Apostolic Nunciature of Libreville, the mass was followed by an aperitif offered by the embassy’s diplomatic team to the parish community and several other religious figures who were kind enough to honor the event with their presence, including Monsignor Mathieu Madega Lebouakehan, Bishop of Mouila.
